WHAT IS DISCUSSED IN THE INITIAL MEETING?
In this first meeting, it is important to me that we build trust in each other and clarify the goals and expectations on both sides very precisely. This is very important to achieve the best possible result in the end. I will explain my approach and the further cooperation in detail.
HOW DOES COACHING WORK WITH ME?
In coaching you are the expert for your solution and your values. For this reason, at the beginning of a session you determine your goal yourself. Of course, as a process facilitator, I will help you by asking specific questions again and again, especially if your goal does not yet seem very clear to you. Once we have formulated a clear goal, I support you with various interventions to find a suitable path to your goal. We look specifically at your own available resources. You will see that you will come to completely new insights about yourself.
HOW LONG DOES A COACHING SESSION LAST?
In my experience 90 minutes is the perfect time for a session. Because then we have enough time to work focused and yet relaxed.
HOW MANY SESSIONS DOES ONE NEED?
This varies from person to person and depends very much on your issue. Looking back, I can say that for "smaller" topics and very concrete issues 1-3 sessions can be expected and for "bigger" topics with complex goals rather 5-10 sessions.
WHERE DOES THE COACHING TAKE PLACE?
I am completely flexible and will see where you feel most comfortable. You are welcome to come to my office, where we have the opportunity to work on your topics in peace and quiet. If this is not possible for you, I would also be happy to come to you. Otherwise, I would also be happy to meet you in the fresh air during a walk or online.
WHAT METHODS ARE USED IN COACHING?
Scientific methods (interventions) are used in coaching. Many coaches have specialized in a particular method and use it over and over again. Other coaches have developed for themselves from the repertoire of methods a more or less own method, which they practice regularly. Personally, I consider it a special coaching competence to intuitively select the right tools from the various methods that seem to me to be the most suitable for my clients in the individual situation. To achieve an even greater effect, I combine them with each other.
What is the difference to therapy?
Coaching is not therapy, although there may be some overlap. In coaching, I focus on the present and future to help you achieve your goals and vision. It is about empowering you to find and implement your own solutions by asking questions, giving feedback and challenging you to expand your thinking. My aspiration is to be your companion and supporter, motivating and inspiring you along the way to your goals.
In contrast, therapy focuses on working through psychological or emotional issues that are often rooted in the past. Therapists usually have medical or psychological training and typically treat illnesses or disorders.
